The great beauty

in Mediterranean design by Leave a comment

This photograph is by amazing London-based photographer Giuseppe Torre. He calls it the heart of Florence in the night: “Piazza San Giovanni.” It’s an amalgamation of 13 vertical shots–the “core” of renaissance, the iconic square with the beautiful “Santa Maria del Fiore” with the Brunelleschi’s dome in the background and the Giotto’s Bell tower in front. On the right is the Baptistery.

Time to forgive and never forget. Villa Belvedere, Siena

Sunset at Villa Belvedere in Siena, Italia

Besides being in one of the most beautiful areas in the entire world, Villa Belvedere is just 9 miles from Siena, Italy. Formerly the vacation resort of Austrian nobility, Villa Belvedere is set in a large Italian garden with aromatic herbs used in the restaurant.

Villa Belvedere is a large and attractive stone farmhouse, lying within the old Lilliano estate, in a panoramic position surrounded by the estate vineyards and olive groves and with a splendid view of the Chianti hills. The recent renovation has restored the house to all of its original splendour.

Pictures of Tuscany – Digital Photos Online

At times I felt I was in a painting. The rolling Tuscan hills, geometric vineyards (how DO they manage to create such straight rows?), and masses of olive trees can all be seen in Italy at one glance. Yes, the olive trees actually had olives on them, almost ready to be taken off the trees to be used as olives and olive oil. The owner of the villa we stayed in had 400 olive trees on her property.
